Maramureș appears in German and Polish touring itineraries. This guide is our own connecting variation via Șetref and Beclean; sources do not prove that most foreign riders take this exact route. Salva municipality confirms the DN17C connection through Șetref.

In Bistrița, OMV’s official list gives Str. Libertății 54 and Calea Moldovei f.n. Rompetrol lists a Dej–Bistriței station. Check the station suitable for your route and opening hours in the operator’s locator; do not assume fuel at every mountain waypoint.
Popasul Drumețului advertises a restaurant on DN17 near Beclean (km 28+280). A possible meal or coffee stop when passing through. Confirm opening hours and motorcycle access directly with the operator.

Check weather for Borșa, Săcel, Romuli and Beclean. Cold, fog and ice may affect the mountain crossing. An older report or GPX does not confirm departure-day conditions.

At Salva, continue towards Năsăud and Bistrița instead of Beclean–Cluj. This leads to a different destination and needs a new distance calculation; it is not advertised as passing the cabin or avoiding a closure.
From Salva we choose the Beclean branch, then Dej and Cluj. The direct Salva–Năsăud–Bistrița option can bypass Beclean. The cabin in Băile Figa needs a separate detour from the town reference.
The cabin is in Băile Figa, Aleea 2, Beclean. Use the property pin for the detour from the route. The host confirms private parking; motorcycle capacity, security and covered spaces need a phone discussion. Confirm stay dates directly, including dates outside summer.
